The city of San Francisco has a human waste problem, with record numbers of complaints of fecal matter in the streets. According to KRON 4, the problem is spilling over into area grocery stores. One of the station's viewers reported seeing a man pooping in one of the aisles of the store with an opened package of toiler paper sitting nearby. He snapped some photos to share with the station.
With more than 25,000 human waste complaints in 2019, San Francisco's poop problem is growing. The city is taking measures to address the issue. The Poop Patrol is a team of city staffers charged with cleaning up human waste around the city and the public works department operates a "pit stop" program, providing clean, safe mobile public toilets.
