An interesting study over the past many months of 2019; on what news consumers knew about the most important news stories of the year. Important, not because they were actually important, but important depending how many people recalled hearing about it.
The top story….Hurricane Dorian. That is the Cat 5 hurricane that leveled the Bahamas. On Houston’s Morning News we dissected the study.I asked our expert to weigh in; is it media focus (they are generating news coverage, primarily from the East Coast, after all) or were the respondents in the study all largely in the East? It wasn’t a topic of conversation in Texas for very long, dealing with our own tropical storms, or, I imagine in California, while it dealt with wild fires.
