What is it about baseball that brings out the superstition? Don’t know about you, but the Astros Championship run is bringing out some crazy in me.
Actually not as crazy as some superstitions of baseball players themselves; if you cruise the internet listings of some of theirs, you’ll seem quite tame. What does it take anyway to break a jinx or fuel a streak? I’ll leave it to the guys actually playing.
As for myself, yes, I caught a lot of talk on Facebook Live about not wearing my orange on this launch of the Astros in game one of the 2019 World Series. But the shirt I wore on Houston’s Morning News puts me in my happy frame of mind, and it’s also what I was wearing when Altuve hit his championship home run on Saturday. I’m looking forward to what’s to come.
