Houston is known for its giving nature, consistently high on the list of charity donors and all forms of philanthropy. No surprise that the fall gala of the Children’s Museum of Houston was a smashing pumpkin success. It was a Halloween-themed party that raised 1.1 million dollars Saturday night. 500 people decked out in tuxedos, gowns and Halloween accessories. You note, I said Saturday night. Yes, while the Astros were playing at nearby Minute Maid.
Clever organizers of the gala streamed the game so the partiers could keep up with the action. Sadly, was a loss for our guy, but a real win in attendance and dollars for the Children’s Museum.
