Tropical Storm Imelda may have flooded parts of Texas, but it also put something on display for the rest of the country - the way Texans help Texans.
This Imelda story takes place in Beaumont, where guests that were stranded by Imelda were staying at a Homewood Suites. The hotel had one employee who managed to make it in to work. And that employee has become a shining example of what Texans do.
Satchel Smith, a student at Lamar University, kept the 80-90 guests at the hotel calm, cool and collected. Guests say he went above and beyond. He made sure they had food to eat.
One of the guests was so impressed she took Smith's picture and posted it to Facebook. That post, and Satchel, went viral.
