It was a gala affair Friday night at Space Center Houston, as the national convention of FBI Citizens’ Academy drew people from all 50 states to Houston, on this Apollo 11 anniversary. Starstruck is the descriptor when the group of 300 people spotted the astronauts among us.
Walt Cunningham Apollo 7, Fred Haise Apollo 13, Al Worden Apollo 15, Michael Coats 4 Shuttle flights and JSC Director, and Randy Bresnik Commander of International Space Station 5 along with career Flight Director Glynn Lunney and NASA Administrator and JSC Director George Abbey. I got to ask questions on stage of this panel that represent the entire history of manned space flight. It was awesome, as was my personal driver home - Walt Cunningham in his Corvette !
