TV personality gets backlash over Tweet about mass shootings, apologizes

Television personality Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson is getting backlash for a tweet that he wrote following this weekend's mass shootings El Paso and Dayton.

In the tweet, Tyson listed several other ways by which Americans pass awar in an average 48 hour period, and said emotion often clouds the facts in situations like mass shootings.

Following the backlash, deGrasse Tyson took to Facebook last night and apologized for what he sent out, saying "I got this one wrong."
