B.B. King’s legendary guitar, 'Lucille' played such an integral role in his life that he made music about it, and even named a Times Square water hole in its honor.
Four years after his death, the prized guitar is going up for grabs.
Los Angeles-based Julien’s Auctions announced that King’s black Gibson ES-345 prototype guitar is among the items from his estate that will go up for bids on Sept. 21 in Beverly Hills and online.
The B.B. King exhibition also features a collection of his instruments, stage-worn jackets and personal items from the 15-time Grammy Award winner’s six decades-long career.
And our own Shara Fryer met the legend. Here's a picture from an interview she did with King in the early 1990's.
