After standing for nearly 60 years, the First Pasadena State Bank tower came down Sunday morning in spectacular fashion. Crews set off a series of controlled explosions to bring the 15-story building to the ground.
Contractors are trying to salvage metal portions of the structure for recycling. A large portion of the bricks are supposed to be re-purposed to build an outdoor display on the City Hall Municipal Campus.
The Pasadena EDC will also donate a limited amount of bricks to the Pasadena Heritage Park and Museum to be sold in their gift shop.
