It’s been awhile since I visited Pasadena, but it still feels like home.Maybe it’s my own memories of things…shared memories, as it turns out, with so many folk there.
The specific occasion this time was the Pasadena Rotary Club, founded in 1936.If you don’t know about Rotary….it’s a civic club with participating groups all across the globe…. And stress PARTICIPATE!If there’s a need in a community, you can bet Rotary will step up to answer the call.
Pasadena Rotary asked me to visit and that allowed all of us to reminisce about the Strawberry Festival, the Pasadena Rodeo….one of the first stories I covered for Channel 13 when moving here in 1980.Memories of Gilley’s, barbecue cook-offs….and hearing some stories of the tornado that just touched down.Our neighbors there also very concerned about the impact of recent plant fires in Deer Park and Crosby.We are all linked as community.It was good to be in Pasadena.
