It’s another anniversary for me and I say that with no amount of ho-hum. It is the 17 year anniversary of the day I was told I had cancer.
So stress the “HAD” cancer and that’s why there’s no ho hum. I have noted over the 17 years of survival… the irony of being diagnosed in the month observed as colorectal cancer awareness month. But it gives me the added opportunity to remind others each year, that early detection is everything in surviving most cancers…..and colorectal cancer is one of those that can be detected very early… and even prevented in many cases. Colonoscopy is the key to that.
Check with your doctor and take the steps to keep track of your health. That’s my best advice….as a survivor.
