Vatican's Treasurer Convicted Of Child Sex Abuse

(Melbourne, Australia) -- One of the Vatican's most senior cardinals is convicted of child sex abuse. Vatican treasurer Cardinal George Pell was found guilty in December of five child sex offenses in a cathedral in his home country of Australia. A court order prevented the verdict from being reported until yesterday. One witness claimed Pell sexually abused him and another boy after Mass. Pell is the highest ranking Vatican official to be convicted of child sexual abuse so far. He'll face a sentencing hearing on Wednesday.
