(Are, Sweden) -- Skier Lindsey Vonn is reportedly recovering from a nasty spill during the final Super-G event of her career. Vonn was about 17 seconds into her run when she lost control, hitting a gate mid-air and ending up in the safety nets at the world championships in Sweden.
After skiing through a gate, the panel between the two poles got stuck on Vonn's boots, and when she hit the ground, she slid downhill face first into a safety net. Vonn was tended to by medical personnel before skiing the rest of the way downhill on her own.
Last week, Vonn had announced she was going to retire due to her knees preventing her from being able to ski how she wanted to. The 34-year-old is the all-time leader in World Cup wins with 82.
