(San Mateo, CA) -- It hasn't happened yet, but a Bay Area restaurant owner says he will refuse to serve anyone wearing a MAGA hat. In a tweet this week, Kenji Lopez-Alt of San Mateo's Wursthall restaurant said he would turn away anyone wearing a Make America Great Again hat just as he would if someone arrived wearing "a swastika, white hood or any other symbol of intolerance and hate."
In a separate tweet, Lopez-Alt says "MAGA hates are like white hoods except stupider because you can see exactly who is wearing them." The award-winning cookbook author is getting mixed reactions on Twitter, but tells the Chronicle he has also received some threatening emails.
