Republicans Will Gather In Bush's Backyard, His Influence Remains Absent

The first ever Republican 'Midterm' Convention begins today in Dallas, but it will take place with a notable absence.

The two-day event is going to happen in the backyard of former president and Texas governor George W. Bush, but president Bush is not going to be there.

"Some of this was of his choosing" said Republican strategist Jennifer Kelly, the former spokesperson for the California GOP, "When people reach out to him for media interviews nowadays, they say he has retired from politics."

Not completely retired from politics. Former president Bush is planning to participate in ceremonies for the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and he is still seen at events with former presidents, like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

But you never, ever see anyone from the Bush family near President Trump.

"The Bush's really did not get behind Donald Trump and support him, even when he became the dually elected nominee for the Republican Party" Kelly told KTRH.

There was once a 'Bush dynasty'. But the reality is, the Bush's have never supported President Trump, or MAGA.

"I think Trump's outsider status really did not sit well with the Bush's, it kind of goes against the Kennebunkport type of politics, and I think the Bush's really looked down their noses at that" noted Kelly.

President Bush's influence on the GOP is absent as well, and most believe the Party is now better off for it.
