President Trump's temporary lift on tariffs for imported beef in now in effect to lower prices. But what about the cost for Republican farmers?
"We are having issues in Texas, this has been going on for a long time" said Melinda Preston, Chair of the Denton County GOP, but the real problem is actually the left attempting to use the issue to create a divisive narrative about Republicans, and of course take another shot at President Trump.
"People want to feed the frenzy off of a headline, which so many people who hate Trump tend to do, is go immediately to the negative" Preston told KTRH, "I appreciate him taking charge and trying to help the American people."
While also trying to help build back up, the U.S. cattle supply.
"Trump is addressing it, he is hitting it head on and he's saying, Hey, I see the issue here, let's try to get some relief and let's try to help" noted Preston.
The White House weighed in and said that President Trump is trying to help U.S. farmers with both short-term, and long-term needs.
