Southeast Texas will likely get an uptick in rainfall, possibly an inch or two in some spots, as the week progresses thanks to at least one tropical system that's been forming about 125 miles south of the coast of Louisiana.
The National Hurricane Center says the tropical system has a 50-percent chance of developing into a tropical storm.
Called Invest 97L, it's one of two systems being watched closely by everyone along the Gulf Coast, though it's not expected to form a hurricane.
It could, however, strengthen into a tropical storm by the time it gets to Texas, which is where it's expected to make landfall, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The second system follows behind, the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly, but it's surrounded by uncertainty -- it's a strong tropical wave near Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, apparently headed into the Gulf of America later in the week.
The National Hurricane Center says re-development is unlikely in the next day or so, but conditions are favorable for its development into a new tropical storm later in the week.
