According to the Houston Police Department, a man suspected of attempting to rob a pawn shop on Greens Road was hospitalized after being shot by police.
An HPD public information officer stated that around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a hold-up panic alarm at 203 West Greens Road.
Upon arrival, officers observed the male suspect holding a female employee at gunpoint. As the suspect and the employee exited the business, an HPD officer shot the suspect multiple times.
The suspect is now in stable condition at a local hospital. The officer, a six-year veteran of the Houston Police Department, was not injured.
