Someone shot at US Border Patrol agents in Chicago on Saturday, and federal as well as local law enforcement agents are now searching for the shooter.
Agents were working in the Little Village neighborhood, which is home to many immigrants from Mexico, when a man driving a black jeep pulled up nearby, fired several shots at ICE agents, then sped away.
No agents were reported hurt in the gunfire, but an immediate call to find the gunman sent Chicago police and other agencies such as US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) scrambling officers for a wide search, according to a DHS spokesperson.
Crowds approached ICE officers on a street a little later, throwing buckets of paint and bricks at Border Patrol vehicles.
