Plane from Houston Stopped, Evacuated in Washington After Bomb Threat

Flights at Washington DC's Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are returning to normal after a "security incident" about 10:30 am Central time involving a plane that had just landed from Texas.

According to local news media in Washington, the incident involved a bomb threat.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, the "flight landed safely and passengers were bused to the terminal while law enforcement conducted a full search of the aircraft," Washington's WUA reported.

Concern about the United Houston-to-Washington flight's safety caused planes to and from the airport to be suspended for about an-hour-and-20-minutes, while passengers on the flight were taken off the plane and bussed to a nearby terminal (see the Reagan Airport "X" post with details below).

Just after landing, the plane was directed to a secure area, where security officers were said to have boarded.

No one has been hurt, passengers and crew are said to be safe, and an investigation by the FBI and FAA is said to be underway.
