It turns out the violent Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua has an offshoot rival, fittingly named "AntiTren." That gang has already begun taking hold in the United States, including right here in Houston, where 16 suspected members of the gang were recently arrested.

According to FBI Houston Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams, "These individuals are accused of engaging in a turf war with TdA members and carrying out numerous violent crimes throughout our city." This includes a mass shooting at a local sports bar that left six people wounded.

This is just the latest in a long list of frightening examples of how the open borders under former President Joe Biden have had long-lasting effects on crime here in America. Breitbart's Bob Price spoke with KTRH about this, saying, "Here you have this prison gang, no one ever heard of these guys until 2022, and now they're in every major city in almost every state in the country."

He went on to warn that if something isn’t done to quickly tamp down on this violent crime from these gangs, things could get worse. He pointed to the violence south of the border as an example, saying, "They're literally at war in western Mexico right now, but they're competing with each other in the United States. They get violent, and you see violent crimes."

These concerns were echoed by former Houston Police Department (HPD) Captain Dr. Greg Fremin. He warned that Houston is a prime target for these violent gangs, saying, "Houston is an epicenter. It's the largest city in the south, so it's not surprising that we have this former prison gang from Venezuela that has laid claim to certain areas of Houston."

The good news is, under the Trump administration, federal law enforcement is taking the threat seriously, and Dr. Greg Fremin says HPD is also in a prime position to address the threat. He said, "The Houston Police Department has a massive gang database of known gang members, who they are, their identities, so we've already done the homework."

In short, Dr. Fremin says the nationally recognized expertise that HPD has in dealing with these gangs will be a massive asset to the federal authorities working to enforce immigration laws and crack down on these foreign cartels and gangs operating inside Houston.
