While Texas Democrats continue to cry that public schools are under-funded, a recent pay increase placed Houston ISD superintendent Mike Miles into some elite company.
"There's a lie circulating on the left that Texas public education is not fully funded. How anyone can make that claim is absolutely beyond me" said James Quintero, Policy Director with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, "Each of the top ten highest paid superintendents in Texas, earns more than the president of the United States."
With the $82,000 raise, Miles is now a part of that elite top ten, and will now make $462,000 a year, in base pay. The president makes $400,000.
"Texas public schools do not have a revenue problem, they have a spending problem" Quintero told KTRH.
This is why 'property tax relief' doesn't last, and Quintero says it's time for Texas lawmakers pass spending caps to protect taxpayers.
