Houston Police officials are preparing for any eventuality after the violence that has broken out in Los Angeles, Austin and Dallas.
There is a large protest being planned in Houston that is expected to counter a military parade for the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday this weekend.
This is being put together by the 'No Kings' movement, a radical left organization against ICE deportations.
Former U.S. Attorney Ryan Patrick, who oversaw the Southern District of Texas during the 2020 George Floyd demonstrations, told out TV partner Channel Two that communication between agencies is critical in avoiding civil unrest.
“I was in constant communication with our major and even smaller city police chiefs, sheriffs, the state police, our National Guard,” Patrick said. “We wanted to make sure there weren’t any gaps that could create more problems.”
