Not only is the Southern border now closed, president Trump is also off to a strong start in the war against fentanyl. And the confirmation of that might surprise you.
"As I point out in the Daily Wire" said Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow with Center for Immigration Studies, "The first person that I've seen credit Trump's polices in Mexico with fentanyl, was the New York Times' Mexico City bureau chief."
The NY Times actually reported the truth, and the cartels have taken notice.
"The cartels have shifted their entire business strategy to slow or even halt fentanyl smuggling altogether, into the United States" Bensman told KTRH, "Because it's just too much of a priority for the Trump administration, so they're giving it up."
Giving up the fentanyl, at least here in the U.S., with their focus now on Europe. But there is still work to be done with other drugs.
"They're making up for this shortfall by increasing their cocaine and meth smuggling, which isn't as objectionable or lethal, as fentanyl was" noted Bensman.
It's another way the cartels are trying to adapt, just like how they are now trying to smuggle illegal aliens -out- of the U.S., to make money.
In the meantime, it's worth noting that seizures of fentanyl have dropped 50% since last November's election.
