Governor Greg Abbott has ordered state emergency resources to mobilize ahead of severe storms and potential flash flooding across South and Southeast Texas. The Texas National Guard, Texas Department of Public Safety, and specialized rescue teams are on standby as heavy rainfall is expected from Thursday through the weekend.

The National Weather Service is advising Texans to monitor forecasts closely and prepare for possible road closures, power outages, and emergency conditions. Residents can also stay updated at TexasFlood.org, DriveTexas.org, and TexasReady.gov to access safety information and real-time emergency alerts.
