Trump has been busy on both the economy and the border in his first few months as president. And according to even left-wing NBC polling, 44% of people now say that America is headed in the right direction.
It's not just NBC polling; Marist polling has similar results, with 45% of people saying that America is on the right track. For Marist, that's the second highest number they've recorded since 2009. NBC's 44% is the highest number they've recorded since 2004, over 20 years ago.
GOP Consultant Matt Mackowiak pointed out that this is yet another strong indicator of the disconnect between mainstream media and everyday Americans. He said, "The fact that you have a modern record for this polling, at a time when the media coverage of Trump remains 80 or 90 percent negative, shows you again how out of touch they are."
Despite the narratives that mainstream media push, Americans have been able to see the progress that Trump has made, and they look forward to seeing more of it.
Mackowiak pointed to prices falling as an example of this, saying, "Look at egg prices as one example. They were going up initially because of the things that Biden was doing, they're now going down, and they're going to keep going down because of steps the Trump administration is taking."
He went on to add that he thinks this is just the beginning of this uptick in confidence by saying, "Their program is going to take years to implement, and they're only two months in. But they are starting to see real results, and I think the public is starting to reflect those real results with the confidence they're showing."
In short, Mackowiak thinks that as Trump continues to implement his agenda, bring prices down, and strengthen the economy, the number of people who say America is on the right track will only grow.
