It was always known for four years that President Biden was not all there competence wise, with some even calling him a front for 'Obama's Third Term.' Mostly because Obama was the only person besides Biden to use autopen. Regardless of where you fall on that theory though, there were clear points where it was proven Biden had no clue what he was doing, or what he was even signing. In a famous exchange with House Speaker Mike Johnson, President Biden had no clue he signed an order to pause liquified natural gas exports.
Then, it was revealed that President Biden had been using two autopens to signs all his executive orders, judge appointments, and even the pardons he signed 20 minutes before leaving office. But why is an autopen a big deal? The media sure has not covered it much. Turns out, it could have big consequences for the judicial system, foreign policy, and even the people Biden pardoned on his way out the door.
The autopen, simply put, is something celebrities use to sign tons of autographs at one time. That was the sole purpose of the autopen. You have seen since he retook office, President Trump has signed his executive orders with a sharpie. Biden did not do that which has fueled the theories that, not only did he not know what he was signing, he was not really in charge.
Jim Davis of The American Thinker says this opens up all kinds of issues.
"These can be reversed...this has a long-term effect on lots of legal issues here in the United States," he says.
Essentially, using an autopen could nullify everything Biden did. All of his treaties, executive orders, and especially the pardons. It is not the document that gives a pardon or an order. It is the physical signature and consent of the president. Which, as it turns out, was just printed on there.
Which brings about the 'Obama's Third Term,' theory again. It essentially looks like Biden's orders were done by committee, likely a handful of staunch left Democrats.
"All these judges are apparently nominated by the committee, and Biden does not know about it...he had no idea he had blocked LNG exports to Europe...that had a profound effect on our economy," says Davis.
So, what can President Trump do about it? He would be able to reverse some of the decisions, most of which he already has done. But the judges and pardons are where it gets trickier. Starting with the judges, he can ask them to resign. But there is a catch.
"If they do not resign, he can take it to the House, Senate, and get them removed...but he has to have conclusive evidence their nominations were signed with an autopen," Davis says.
As for the pardons, if they are proven to be signed via autopen, that opens up prosecution. Davis adds that all those pardoned, like Anthony Fauci, should be prosecuted.
For some reason, the media has entirely avoided the autopen scandal. But it is a very real thing and could have huge impact on not just Biden's legacy, but the Democrat party as a whole.
