Firefighters remained on scene this morning after a massive three-alarm fire tore through an office building off West Sam Houston Parkway and Bellaire Boulevard. The fire, which reportedly began in an electrical panel near a stairwell, quickly spread as shifting winds shattered windows and caused parts of the building to collapse.
More than 120 firefighters responded, facing extreme heat and a difficult water supply. Despite the destruction, no injuries have been reported, though one firefighter was treated for possible heat exhaustion and is expected to recover
Investigators will begin looking into the cause of the fire once it is fully extinguished. Officials say firefighters will likely remain on scene throughout the day.
