Will Congress Make DOGE Spending Cuts Permanent?

According to calculations from usdebtclock.org, DOGE has found more than $185 billion in savings for taxpayers. Now some members of the GOP are calling on Congress to make those cuts permanent, something that could give the U.S. economy a major boost.

Economist EJ Antoni pointed out that a major factor in inflation is government spending. Antoni explained that, "You are going to remove the big inflationary impulse from the U.S. economy by getting government spending down. Now you make it easier for the private sector to operate."

He went on to say that without enshrining these cuts in law, in the long run, DOGE has achieved nothing. He likened the whole situation to a cancer patient, saying, "If all an oncologist did for you was simply tell you, 'Yes, you have cancer, and here's its location,' but didn't actually remove the tumor, you would still die."

The good news is, according to Antoni, as the days go by, and Musk uncovers more and more wasteful and fraudulent government spending, the demand for permanent change is only going to grow louder and louder.

He said that, "As soon as voters are willing to get rid of these politicians for putting all of this garbage into the budget, then all of a sudden they'll get off their butts and get something done." He thinks it's clear that the voters want change here, and he expects Congress to deliver it soon.
