Elon Musk's X, formally Twitter, has been facing a huge outage since early this morning.

According to down detector, there have been massive outage spikes since around 5:00am CST.

Down detector reports that the outage is effecting nearly 60% of the X app's users, and 31% of the X website's users.

As of about 12:20am CST, the app appeared to be working again, but it's unclear if another outage spike could occur.

Elon Musk posted recently on the platform confirming that the outage was the result of a cyberattack.

While X is no stranger to simple cyberattacks, Musk's statement implied that that this attack was far larger and more coordinated than most.

He went on to imply that it may have been carried out by a large group, or even a foreign country.
