After rejecting a deal on Friday, and getting reprimanded by President Donald Trump in front of the world, Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy is singing a new tune on the proposed minerals deal with the United States.

"I just want the Ukrainian position to be heard. It was very important to me — the Ukrainian position to be heard. The fact that it happened in media, I did not prepare ... [for] the conditions that were there," Zelenskyy said on Sunday, as leaders of the UK and France proposed a one month truce between Russia and Ukraine

Ukraine's president said in response to a question from a BBC reporter that he "ready to sign" the deal after it blew up last week.

As for how that happened, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told CBS Zelenskyy had "thrown off the sequencing" of how the minerals deal and peace deal were supposed to play out - instead choosing to "relitigate" discussions in public when they should have taken place in private.

Zelenskyy now says that he would return to the White House if invited.
