A woman and her 13-year-old daughter were in jail Sunday night after a dispute with a neighbor turned violent.
The two were charged by Harris County Sheriff's deputies in an investigation into a stabbing on the county's northeast side, near the 59 (I-69) Eastex Freeway near Old Humble Road.
Our TV partner KPRC 2 News reports the 13-year-old is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and her mother, identified as Estela Martinez, 43, is charged with tampering with evidence.
Investigators say it began with complaints between upstairs and downstairs neighbors that quickly grew into a confrontation that turned violent.
A 19-year-old was one victim, who was taken to a hospital in serious condition with stab wounds; another victim, a female adult, was also taken to a hospital Sunday afternoon, with injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.
Neighbors told Channel 2 News that they're concerned about the violence in their Aldine-area neighborhood.
And there were other cases of very recent teenage violence: Also on Sunday a 16-year-old was accused of stabbing his mother's fiancé during a fight, a 17-year-old was shot and killed (also in the Aldine area), and a search continues for a man who shot and killed a 15-year-old boy on Houston's east side last weekend.
