Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he wasn't sure he “did something bad” during his meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance on Friday.

During his sit-down interview with Fox News' Bret Baier following the meeting, Zelenskyy was asked whether he believes he owed Trump and the U.S. an apology after making a few questionable comments in the Oval Office.

"No, I respect president and I respect American people, and if — I don’t know if … I think that we have to be very open and very honest, and I’m not sure we did something bad,” Zelensky said in response.

Yet, Zelensky says he's ready to reach a minerals deal with the U.S. and is hoping to return to the White House for more talks with President Trump. The deal was not signed on Friday as expected following the tense Oval Office meeting. Trump said Zelenskyy can return once he's "ready for peace."

"He has got to say, ‘I want to make peace. I don’t want to fight a war any longer.’ His people are dying, he doesn’t have the cards,” Trump told reporters outside the White House.

Zelenskyy made multiple posts to X Friday afternoon about the discussion and received a lot of support from other world leaders.

“I’m very thankful to Americans for all your support. You did a lot,” Zelensky added. “America’s help has been vital in helping us survive, and I want to acknowledge that. Despite the tough dialogue, we remain strategic partners."

Zelensky has since departed from the U.S. and landed in Britain on Saturday for talks with European leaders.
