According to a recent YouGov poll, more Americans trust the Trump Administration to "state facts fully, accurately, and fairly" than they do the mainstream media. The divide is 29% to 44% in the President's favor.
The real question here is, who are the 29% of people who still trust the mainstream media to be honest and fair? According to Curtis Houk with the Media Research Center, it's just leftists. He said, "There's always going to be the hard left, who believes the media are doing their jobs, that they always tell the truth."
He went on to say that as far as everyone else is concerned, they're tired of the elitism and arrogance that has come to define mainstream media. He said, "People do not like to be talked to that way, and sure enough, we have that point where nearly half the country is more inclined to believe Donald Trump than the media."
Houk also pointed out that Americans have caught on to the fact that, in addition to attacking Trump for the better part of ten years and covering for the Biden Administration for the last four, mainstream media has also made a bad habit of omitting important facts. He said, "It doesn't occur to a lot of them that certain facts are worth including and are pertinent. One of the single biggest reasons that media trust has plummeted is bias by omission."
He says this stands in sharp contrast with President Trump's second administration, which has been radically transparent and has been hard at work attempting to fulfill his various campaign promises.
