A woman was severely injured by a gunshot Sunday morning at a convenience store on Houston's north side.
She entered a Circle K store along North Shepherd Drive near Pinemont about 11 am and grabbed some goods to purchase, but preparing to check out,while she was counting her cash, a man tried to snatch her roll of money, according to Houston Police.
She resisted, and then the two got into a struggle, but then the man pulled his gun and shot the woman in the torso.
She then pulled out her gun and shot at him but apparently missed.
He ran and is now wanted by police, who think he may have been tied to another robbery in the area.
The unidentified woman given some medical help at the Circle K store, then was rushed to a hospital for surgery.
She's expected to survive, police said.
