It's been a week since president Donald Trump started his new plan on 'reciprocal' tariffs on U.S. trading partners. And needless to say, the left and mainstream media, are still freaking out.
"I think some it is just 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' (TDS), actually a lot of the left used to favor tariffs" said John Carney, finance and economics editor at Breitbart News, "They like to say that these tariffs are going to cause inflation, but in fact there is no evidence of that. I think that we can just brush off a lot of these legacy media reports. I don't think that's going to happen, and businesses don't think it's going to either."
Basically, what is really happening, and what is never reported is, this is a long overdue rebalancing of an unbalanced trade system.
"Trump is really presenting the world with a choice" Carney told KTRH, "They can continue with their unfair trade practices in which case we will level the playing field, or they can lower their tariffs and we will lower ours as well."
Carney notes that the Trump tariffs are not protectionism, they're a path to free trade.
