Leading up to November, Democrats were overly confident that the American public was somehow behind their Progressive ideology. They inexplicably thought that most Americans wanted gender-affirming care for minors, more green energy, and a full-blown push to borderline Communism. That failed spectacularly in November, when Donald Trump ran away the election to retake the White House.
Yet the party has managed to still not learn their lesson. They continue pushing the same narratives and same insulting rhetoric. Fascism this, racism that, it all has become tiresome, worn out, and frankly, it is pathetic. So, as they continue down the dark road of Progressive nonsense, donors for the liberals are starting to see the light and are pulling back the cash flow.
Republican strategist Aaron Evans says this is a signal from donors that they no longer trust the party to succeed on any level moving forward.
"That is a huge statement that really shows the dysfunction in the Democrat party," he says.
Many are withholding those dollars now both as a way of venting at the party they now distrust, and out of fear of President Trump taking hold of the reins. They see he is coming after all these shady interests that have plagues the country for a long time, and it has struck fear into them.
It is also a realization for them that the party is not only collapsing on itself because of the political divide, but their influence has all but evaporated.
"Finally, the American people have woken up, and you can only fool people for so long. The struggle for the donors is they cannot sit in a dark room, write checks, and control the future of America like they have been able to because light has been shown into the dark corners," he says.
Now granted, not every single person that is a Democrat is on the insane part of the Left. There are plenty in their own party, including donors, who have seen this unfold, and have said 'hey, maybe we pushed this too hard.'
But acknowledging their mistakes would take not only humility, but common sense, which is something the Democrats lack on an enormous scale. That lack of humility, combined with the only logical part of the Democrats remaining, is causing a huge schism that is only growing.
"You also have extremely radical donors who believe they did not push hard enough...and are refusing to admit why they lost," says Evans. "I think we are going to see this internal fight be consistent all the way through the next Presidential election."
The Democrat party is teetering toward life support, as their main source of life is now starting to take their money and leave. That may spell the end of the Democrat party.
