After nearly a month on the run, Salvador Saucedo was once again apprehended by authorities after he escaped custody while undergoing testing at the Mid Coast Medical Center in Bellville.
Saucedo, who had originally been charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and assault on a peace officer, was found inside a burning home that was connected to his girlfriend.
He was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have since announced that Saucedo was declared clinically brain dead on Wednesday morning.
Saucedo was originally in stable condition and expected to survive after he was airlifted to a hospital. His body has since been released to his family. He was an organ donor.
Saucedo's girlfriend has also reportedly been arrested and will face charges for hindering apprehension.
