Drug Bust Leads To More Crime Concerns At Colony Ridge

The Colony Ridge development north of Houston has been out of the news for several months, but now that Trump is back in office, it's cropping back up. That's thanks to the arrest of three illegal aliens who were caught during a traffic stop there.

According to Brad Johnson with The Texan News, during the traffic stop, one of the aliens was found to be in possession of a gun, but it doesn't stop there. Johnson said, "Each one had been deported at least four times. One of them, during the stop, admitted they had a stash house full of drugs."

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office, along with HPD, and the DEA, were able to find around 350 pounds of methamphetamines inside a home in Plum Grove, which is adjacent to Colony Ridge. Johnson says that this is likely just scratching the surface of the crimes that are being committed in Colony Ridge and the surrounding area.

He said, "There almost assuredly is more that law enforcement isn't aware of." He pointed out that when the Colony Ridge development first became a major story, law enforcement agencies at the time said that there was cartel activity in that area.

The good news is, this could lead to a bigger law enforcement crackdown on the area. Johnson says Texas DPS has already been on the scene there for months assisting with law enforcement operations, and he says that he'd be surprised if federal officials hadn't already set up some manner of operations in the area.

He also thinks this would be a good excuse for them to ramp those operations up.
