Despite losing power in November, Democrats have continued to push their agenda thanks to activist judges across the federal judiciary. Biden set them up for this strategy by appointing a record number of radical judges.
The Heritage Foundation's Hans von Spakovsky pointed out that Senator Chuck Schumer and the Democrats worked overtime in the last few weeks of their majority to get those judges confirmed, and it worked. He went on to say that, "All of those judges, if you look at their background, are the most partisan, left-wing ideologues that have ever gotten on the bench."
So how does Trump push his agenda past these radical left judges? According to von Spakovsky, Trump will have to rely on the Supreme Court. He said, "Hopefully what will happen is that the most important cases will eventually be overturned by the Supreme Court. I think that we will see that."
Trump will also have to make sure that appointing good judges to all levels of the federal judiciary becomes a priority for the next four years. Von Spakovsky also says in the future, Republican senators need to do a better job of calling out radical judges appointed by Democratic presidents. He said, "They pay lots of attention to who's nominated to the Supreme Court. They pay no attention to who's nominated to be district court, or trial court judges."
Von Spakovsky says those lower court judges are the ones currently doing the most damage to the Trump agenda.
