Murder Charge Filed Against Teenager

A murder charge has been filed in connection with the death of a man on January 7th in the Spring area.

Seventeen-year-old Jerod Cordarius Jones is charged with murder, while an alleged accomplice, 18-year-old Lloyd Lewis, is charged with tampering with evidence because it's believed by investigators that Lewis took shell casings from the scene of the murder.

Jones was reportedly out on bail for pending charges, including assault causing bodily injury and criminal mischief.

The victim is identified as Jaden Tyler Reese, who was shot in his car in the 300 block of Cypresswood close to Hickory Twig Way, not far from the 45-North Freeway.

Investigators say it looks like the three were meeting because of a drug deal or because of some kind of purchase over Facebook Marketplace.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's office says the two alleged killers ran from the scene but were found a short time later at an abandoned house nearby, where they were arrested.

Eight other teens were "detained" for questioning at that house but were later freed.

Precinct 4 Captain Jose Garza said, “It appears that it was being used as a party, drug home.”

Several law enforcement agencies were briefly involved in the search for the suspects.

Both the teenagers are due for a court appearance Monday morning.
