In what could have been a really bad situation, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has confirmed that what was originally reported as an 'active shooter' situation at the Walmart located at 22850 Morton Ranch Road, is now under control.
According to Gonzalez, a former disgruntled employee allegedly returned to the store, but was then escorted out. He then fired gun shots towards the 99 freeway. No injuries were reported.
Deputies acted swiftly, conducted a traffic stop, and now have the suspect in custody. An investigation is currently underway.
