DOJ Drops Charges Against Texas Doctor, Whistleblower on Child Sex Changes

The United States Department of Justice has filed a motion to drop the case against Texas Children’s Hospital whistleblower Dr. Eithan Haim.

The motion was filed on Friday by Assistant U.S. Attorney John P. Pearson with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas Houston Division.

Dr. Haim blew the whistle on the hospital in May 2023 for them continuing to administer cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers to children. The following month, Dr. Haim was visited by federal agents who threatened to prosecute him. He was eventually indicted in the summer of 2024 with the Biden administration alleging that he violated patient privacy laws by using the hospital’s electronic system without authorization to obtain personal information.

Haim faced a four-count indictment with maximum penalties of up to 10 years in federal prison and $250,000 in fines.

“The Trump administration took office a few days ago and issued an Executive Order to end the weaponization of the DOJ against its own citizens," Haim wrote in a post to X earlier this week. "But I can assure you that today that weaponization is just as alive as it was January 19th, 2025."
