TikTok's ban in the U.S. doesn't even last 24 hours.
The Chinese-owned social media app announced Sunday that they are restoring service in the United States after a brief ban that started late Saturday night.
"Thanks for your patience and support. As a result of President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S.!"
It appears President-elect Trump promised to issue an executive order on Inauguration Day to extend TikTok's operations. It's unclear how long the extension will last.
The app was ordered to be shut down after the Supreme Court upheld a ban law on the app in the United States since ByteDance, the company that owns the app, did not divest from China.
In a post to Truth Social Sunday morning, Trump said he would like "the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture" of the app.
"We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive," more of the statement from TikTok said.
