If there's one thing that the November election proved, it's that Americans support Trump's brand of populism. What's more, it's taking root in Europe as well. Turns out Europeans also like the idea of lower prices and less illegal immigration.
Political commentator and Newsmax contributor Jeffrey Lord says that Trump has become the face of populism globally. He said, "I think there really is a serious political movement behind Trump that evolved over time. Now he is the global leader of this."
Lord also says that Trump has the opportunity to help this global movement grow and make critical reforms, and his cabinet picks and ambassadors will be a big part of that. He said, "He picks them for a reason, because they're fundamentally on board with him, and I think it will have an effect globally."
Lord thinks that in Europe, just like here in America, everyday people are sick of the status quo politicians that have been running the show for so long. He said, "These elites are all hanging out together. Whether you're French, or German, or what have you, people don't take well to that."
All in all, Lord is expecting that over the next few years, we'll see bigger changes and more improvements than we did during Trump's first term, both here in the United States and maybe even to international institutions like the U.N.
