Trump has yet to take office, but there are already reports that some would-be illegal aliens in Mexico have decided to turn around and go home. These immigrants are already feeling the Trump Effect, and they don't like it.

Former Homeland Security Special Agent Victor Avila told KTRH that the effort to get to the U.S. just isn't worth it. He said, "They are going to give up right then and there, and not make their way all the way north, especially the ones that are coming from all the way south and are in Mexico City."

As for the illegal aliens who have made it into the United States over the last four years? Avila says he thinks they'll start leaving before too long. He said, "There's a lot of them that are self-sustained, they have money, they're well-educated, and I think that's the first group that's going to decide to go back on their own."

It's not all good news though. Some of those illegal aliens that are still desperate to get into the United States are turning to the cartels to smuggle them across the border. Avila says that due to this increased demand for smuggling, the prices have risen.

He said, "They are trying to avoid all detection. They're trying to avoid being fingerprinted, having their picture taken, or being identified by any means." Avila says he's worried that with more aliens sneaking into the country via cartel smuggling, more criminals and other nefarious actors could sneak into the U.S.
