Funeral arrangements are planned for this upcoming week for the Pct. 5 Deputy Constable and her daughter who were killed in a car crash earlier this month.
Services for Katherine Hutson and her 8-year-old daughter, Kacey Hutson, will be on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Community of Faith Church located on Becker Road in Hockley. The service will only be open to family, close friends, first responders and Harris County officials.
Deputy Hutson was working security for a road construction crew on westbound I-10 near I-610 in the early morning hours of Nov. 22. Police said her and her daughter, who was asleep in the back seat of their Chevy Impala, where hit by a Mazda 3, causing the Impala to hit a stationary truck and resulting in a fiery crash.
The Mazda 3 had a driver and a passenger. The passenger was transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver remained at the scene following the crash and spoke with investigators.
Deputy Hutson was 46 years old and an 18-year veteran of Harris County Precinct 5. She also has a son.
