The New Texas Stock Exchange is preparing to launch in Dallas next year, which means you can expect economic growth in Texas to continue. This is just the logical next step in Texas becoming a major economic hub.
Economic researcher Ray Perryman, president of the Perryman Group, says this is great news for Texas. He told KTRH, "With all the growth that we're having in Texas right now, it is something that will allow companies to have a more efficient way to enter the public markets, and access public money."
Perryman thinks that will be especially true for new companies here in Texas. He said, "The main thing it's going to do is allow younger companies, emerging companies, to have a place where they can come, in order to get started in the financial markets, and achieve their next levels of success."
This new stock exchange could also cement Texas' position of leadership in the southern economy. Perryman stated, "This area has been the headquarters of the sun-belt financially for a long time, and this would just take that to the next level. So, I think it's something that's very good for the state."
While this won't result in any major immediate changes to economic life here in Texas, Perryman says that over time, it will make the Texas economy more powerful and more efficient.
