Decision Desk HQ has officially predicted that the Republican Party will control both the Senate and the House of Representatives following the November 5th election.
Several races have yet to be called, but Decision Desk HQ is predicting that GOP candidates will secure at least 219 House seats. The minimum for a majority is 218.
Republicans are expected to win more seats, but in states like California and Alaska, there are still too many outstanding votes for those races to be called.
In California's 13th House District, Republican John Duarte is leading his Democratic challenger, Adam Gray. In Alaska, Republican Nick Begich is leading the Democratic incumbent, Mary Peltola. If both Republicans win these races, the GOP will have 221 votes in the House.
