DHS Funded Billboard Sparking Outrage Across Texas

The Department of Homeland Security has begun putting up billboards all across Texas, advertising legal services for illegal immigrants. The billboards read, “Your brother in immigration custody has rights, we’re here to help.”

This is likely just another way for the Biden-Harris administration to not subtly encourage even more illegal immigration. Former Border Patrol Chief Ron Vitiello told KTRH, "The incentives to come into the country illegally have been very high over the last four years. It seems very unnecessary to me, and certainly tone-deaf."

Vitiello also said that anyone apprehended by DHS is already given access to free legal aid, making these billboards a redundant waste of taxpayer money. He said, "This is just another example of where priorities have gone off track. This administration is showing the rest of the United States that they just don't care about our concerns over a secure border."

U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales (R-TX) has pledged to push his fellow congressmen to cut funding for these billboards. Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) also condemned the billboards in a statement posted to his X page. He called the billboards "alarming" and said that they were a "preview of the legal arguments that radical progressive democrats will use to argue against deportation of the millions dumped in America by Biden-Harris-Mayorkas."
